The last decade has witnessed once
more a “revolution” that hits Psychology frequently.This time the revolution
came along with the introduction of emotions in the centre of interest of psychological
topics. Intelligence has become emotional, “cold” cognitive Psychology has
become “warm” when reconsidering role of emotions, etc.. However, during this
decade, a highly important revolution has taken place, though without so much advertising
impact but with great effect in academical and professional topics of Psychology. This
revolution consists of an intense and renewed interest for Personality. Psychology of Personality tries to
integrate a multitude of existing models and small theories in a generic and unitary
scheme. This scheme is widely accepted and is based on the tradition of Individual
Differences of personality traits and complemented with latest research on Development
Psychology, Evolutionary Psychology, Genetics and Psychobiology, Neuroscience studies,
Social and Work Psychology, Experimental Psychology of
emotions and cognition and of course on Clinical and Health
Psychology. During this Congress, The Spanish
Research Society of Individual Differences (SEIDI), proposes to all interested parties, of
any branch of Psychology, Psychiatry, Pedagogy and other Social Sciences to focus their
efforts during a few days in analyzing transversality of the Psychology of
Personality in daily professional and research activities. For such we have invited
outstanding international and national scientific celebrities that will present their most
innovating proposals and recent investigations. On behalf of SEIDI, we wish to invite and also open a participation forum for all those interested in conveying their research and proposals regarding the Psychology of Personality in all its facets. Antonio Andrés Pueyo
